Citroen takes centre stage at green car show

The eagerly anticipated will have a distinctly French flavour this year as ’s C1 takes the spotlight in a re-enactment of the famous chase scene from ‘The Italian Job’.

Three of the popular green car models will star in a short film at the futuristic Eden Project in Cornwall while decked out in France’s famous colours – red, white and blue.

Guss Grand, the show’s director, commented: “Citroen is one of the most dedicated vehicle manufacturers to the environmental cause. When we decided to do this mini-movie homage to kick-start the Sexy Green Car Show in style, Citroen’s C1 was the obvious vehicle of choice. We’re just glad they didn’t blow any doors off!”

The is deserving of its place in the spotlight – with ultra-low CO2 emissions of just 108g/km and up to 68.9mpg. It is one of the most economical cars available on general release – but it is not Citroen’s only green car success story.

Both the Citroen C2 VTS HDi and the Grand C4 Picasso further demonstrate the company’s commitment to environmental issues. The former boasts a frugal 64mpg and CO2 emissions at just 109g/km while it is still capable of achieving 0-60mph in just 9.4seconds. The Grand C4 Picasso meanwhile has impressively low emissions for a vehicle of its size – a seven-seater that emits just 150g/km and achieves 46.9mpg.

The Sexy Green Car Show takes place from May 23-30.
