Alfa Romeo’s green credentials

has, for a long time, had a global policy on the protection of and respect for the environment through constant improvements in the production processes and the increase in Eco-compatibility. take steps to ensure they comply with the European directive 2000/53 which allows customers to receive the best service in respect of End of Life Vehicles.

Fiat Group Automobiles (Alfa Romeo has been a part of the Fiat Group since 1986) is responsible for vehicles it has previously placed in the market. The last owners of end of life vehicles are provided with an accessible free take-back network for qualifying vehicles (as of the 1st January 2007). Recycling and recovery targets of 85% by weight by 2006 and 95% by weight by 2015 are also met.

A qualifying vehicle is a passenger vehicle with up to 9 seats or a goods vehicle with a gross vehicle weight up to 3,500kg. The vehicle must be complete and free from any additional waste.

Fiat Group Automobiles UK Ltd has appointed CARTAKEBACK as our authorised service provider for End of Life Vehicles. Cartakeback.com was formed by 11 UK shredder operators in response to the End of Life Vehicle Directive. The Directive was introduced with the aims of improving the recyclability of vehicles, and ensuring that re-use, recycling and recovery rates of end of life vehicles increased – www.cartakeback.com
