Survey says… green cars are in!

How times have changed. Remember when green cars were seen as a clunky, unfashionable and even unrealistic solution to our modern transporting needs? Well now they are firmly established as chic, hip and in with the in-crowd as a recent survey proved.

Prospere Magazine based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, an online business and lifestyle magazine aimed at young women in their 20s and 30s, asked what type of car its readers would ideally like to drive. The response was overwhelming.

A whopping 50 per cent of the readers surveyed said they would ideally like to get a hybrid or ‘other’ green car. Meanwhile, a meagre 10 per cent preferred to stick with a ‘regular’ vehicle.

It seems that the environment is at the forefront of issues for young people, with 30 per cent of those surveyed stating that they would actually prefer to ditch their cars altogether travelling by transit or walking.

Clearly in an ideal world we’d all be able to abandon our vehicles and get where we want to go on our feet or on a bicycle. However, the pressures of modern society mean that a more prudent alternative is needed. Now green cars are not just practical, they’re fun too – and demand is in place for their reputation to keep on growing.
