Should the UK government introduce legislation to make it compulsory for manufacturers of electric and hybrid vehicles to add artificial noise for road safety purposes?

Interest grows in Eco-Log

July 25, 2008 Posted by: Paul Lucas

A technology developer is celebrating its expansion ahead of the launch of new emissions technology that provides reports on the composition of exhaust gases.

Lysanda is expanding following the completion of its £1.25M venture capital funding led by Logispring, the Geneva-based Venture Capital fund. It will invest in new staff and new office space with its business boosted by growing interest from the fleet sector in its technology which helps to minimise operating costs and reduce environmentally harmful emissions.

The company has developed pioneering software dubbed Eco-Log, which reads exhaust emissions as a vehicle is travelling. Rather than directly measuring the exhaust gases however, it instead predicts what the exhaust content will be from the various inputs in the combustion process. It utilises the signals it obtains from each vehicle’s On-Board Diagnostic System (OBD) and claims its results are around three per cent more accurate than traditional exhaust gas analysis.

The company is involved in projects with Millbrook Proving Ground, Transport for London and several London Boroughs. Millbrook is running a series of ‘Eco-Drive’ events enabling fleet customers to practise economic driving under controlled conditions with Eco-Logs installed on each vehicle.

Meanwhile, Transport for London is examining hybrid buses on London routes with the Eco-Log providing emissions information.

Perhaps you could point out to your readers that this article has nothing to do with our business that has exsisted since 2000 and that the names Eco-logs and eco-log have prior use.
Thank you

Hi Chris…

I think you’ve just done it! I think the article clearly refers to Lysanda as the company in question, but I hope it’s not caused too much confusion with visitors moving from our website to your own.

Thanks a lot.
