The events roll on at the British International Motor Show, where electric cars have been tipped to takeover the streets.
According to Lars Holmqvist, chief executive of Clepa, the European Association of Automotive Suppliers, “electric vehicles will be the most common form of transport on our roads in the future.”
Holmqvist predicts that massive changes are required by the automotive industry and believes that rewards should be given for eco-innovations and that change should be phased in as the industry deals with what is arguably its most expensive challenge to date.
He went on to state that there is £10billion available in loans to help the auto industry tackle these changes and that it is well placed to help the countries that have yet to embrace the environmental issues that Europe has made such outstanding progress with.
In other news, Citroen is awarding green thinking at the show with a competition to win a TomTom satellite navigation system.
If you want to be in with a chance of winning you simply have to pick up a leaflet at the Greener Driving Pavilion and answer a simple question based on the ten top tips to help motorists improve their environmental driving credentials.
Remember that the British International Motor Show will continue at the London ExCeL until August 03, so it’s not too late to grab your tickets.
