Estate agents go green

Certain professions suffer from an image problem – tell someone you’re a tax officer for example, and you’re sure to be met with groans. So it’s reassuring to see that one of those much maligned groups is doing its best to enhance its image with an eco-friendly scheme.

Estate agent Residential has bought five 1.2 Lounge Cars for its sales staff to use alongside four electric scooters.

With a Bossa Nova white finish, along with orange and black company logo graphics, the firm is hoping that the fuel efficient cars will make a sizeable impact on the streets of Camden. The aim is to keep the estate agents’ journeys as environmentally friendly as possible – the Fiat 500 has carbon dioxide (CO2) emission levels of just 119g/km.

The vehicle also boasts an impressive 65mpg and so Tony Dittli, managing director for London Residential, is hoping the agents’ travelling will now be low mileage – and that they will be able to fit into tight parking spaces.

Indeed this isn’t the only green scheme being adopted by the company, which is also using a green electricity supplier for its offices and offers an eco-advisory service to landlords and tenants.
