We’re just weeks away from the most historic motor show in the world – the 2008 Paris Motor Show – and yet another car manufacturer is lining up to showcase its latest designs under the spotlight of the world’s motoring media.
Ford will debut its all-new Ka at the show, replacing the original model which was first launched in 1996. The new Ka will retain the elements that made the first generation model so popular, but will take it to a new level with expressive styling, outstanding dynamics and most notably an environmentally friendly theme.
The vehicle will be one of the cheapest to run on the market and kind to the atmosphere thanks to two economical, low emission engines – a 1.2litre 69 PS Duratec petrol engine and a 1.3litre 75 PS Duratorw TDCi turbo-diesel.
Both the petrol and diesel models are said to have carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions below 120g/km and the 1.2litre petrol model, expected to be the brand’s biggest seller, has cut fuel consumption by 21 per cent compared to the previous version of the 1.3litre Ka.
The diesel model meanwhile offers an even greener alternative with superb fuel economy at 67.2mpg.
