Ireland could be the next ‘Better Place’

Rumours are rife that the Republic of Ireland could be the next country to join the electric revolution. Further to Paul’s post, it looks like Ireland could be the next country to sign up to ‘Project Better Place’, the company currently establishing an electric network in Israel and Australia among other countries.

According to The Sunday Business Post, the Californian firm is in advanced negotiations to secure investment to develop an infrastructure to support the widespread use of electric cars. Such investment would be used to establish a network of recharging stations required to sustain the use of electric vehicles.

Christian Egenfeldt, European business development manager of Better Place, told the newspaper he expected that electric cars could be a common sight on Irish roads by 2011.
