Subaru offers green alternative

If you’re bored with hearing about hybrid and electric cars, then perhaps you’ll be interested in a new concept – a partial zero emissions vehicle (PZEV).

The vehicle is offered by Subaru and claims to be both functional and environmentally friendly. The Subaru Outback PZEV helps you save the planet while losing none of the power, safety or room of a traditional vehicle.

This green car however, will not necessarily save you money at the pumps. Instead, Subaru has developed a new fuel-burning system that spews zero evaporative emissions and, according to Subaru, the emissions that exit the exhaust may even be cleaner than the air we usually breathe.

The Subaru Outback, which will be released in Canada, has a 2.5 litre engine producing 170 horsepower. It also offers an all-wheel drive system and it is well suited to any road conditions.

Certainly the Subaru Outback can’t compete with hybrid cars for fuel savings but it is currently the only environmentally friendly AWD station wagon in the Canadian market which should make it a hit among a large number of families.
