Project Better Place has dominated the green car news in recent weeks with its advancements in San Francisco and Hawaii. Now however, it has made a breakthrough in one of its original sites, Israel, where it has introduced its first plugged-in parking lot.
The car park features a charging spot design that will be used in Better Place deployments around the world as the company begins deployment of its recharging network pilot across the country of Israel in areas including Tel Aviv, Haifa, Kefar Sava and Holon.
Designed by New Deal Design in San Francisco, the charging spot includes a connector developed and designed by Better Place that complies with international standards. It will soon be deployed across Israel, Denmark, Australia, California and Hawaii.
The charging spot is part of the wider Better Place electric car charging infrastructure that also includes battery exchange stations and a service control centre.
