The Japanese manufacturer’s greenest car, the Civic Hybrid is starring in one of the latest blockbuster films to come out of Hollywood.
The new Keanu Reeves movie ‘The Day The Earth Stood Still’ a remake of a now little remembered 1951 film of the same name, opened across the UK on the 12th December, and the filmmakers had access to six of the fuel efficient hybrids for use in the film.
During the film, the car is used be female lead Jennifer Connelly; and Honda is offering people the chance to win a VIP trip to Hollywood, simply by taking a test drive of any Honda car.
“The reason the filmmakers chose the Civic Hybrid is that as a low-emission, fuel efficient car, it’s already a car of the future that was right for the lead female part,” says Harry Cooklin, Marketing Communications Manager at Honda (UK). “We’re proud of the car’s role in the movie and are also pleased to be able to offer a taste of Hollywood to customers who want a taste of a new Honda.”
The Civic Hybrid is soon to be joined by Honda’s latest entry into the Hybrid world with the soon to be released Insight, which is due in the UK from Spring 2009 onwards.
