Green Drag Racing!

The British Drag Racing circuit Santa Pod will be home to the second ‘Alternative Fuel and Zero Emissions Race Event’ on Friday 24 April after a successful first race day in 2008.

Last year saw Lotus, Bike Magazine, Vectrix and Green Fuels UK locking horns on the famous quarter of a mile race track and this year the organisers have thrown the doors open to allow businesses, universities or pretty much anyone the chance to enter.

The rules are very straight forward: anything that doesn’t use fossil fuels for propulsion will be allowed.
For those interested in entering the good news is that it is FREE to enter, while for spectators the price is a more than reasonable £5.

Santa Pod’s Managing Director, David Lloyd Jones said. ‘As a venue, we derive a great deal from Motorsport, so it’s important that we do something that helps to plot the future of the sport. Somewhere in this eclectic line-up will be the genuine long-term future of Drag Racing and the direction that we all need to look toward. Trucks, cars, bikes, trikes are all welcome. Zero emissions does not mean zero fun or competitive edge. Come down and see for yourself.’
