Air powered car to hit the highway

In Europe the Smart car has been around for sometime so it’s unlikely to turn heads – even in America, where they are much rarer, the sight of one of these small and efficient motor cars is hardly attention grabbing. That is unless it is powered by air.

That is the achievement of aeronautical engineer Pascal Schreier, speaking to the Daily Breeze, who has developed the car to run on compressed air, something he describes as a “completely new technology”.

According to Schreier, the new technology comes in the form of a 12hp high efficiency engine that can achieve as much as 100-200mpg. He states that if you push on the brake you will recompress the air into the tank.

Effectively this is a new form of hybrid technology with Schreier now working on making the vehicle lighter with pressed fibre that is harder than steel and lighter than aluminium.

The air-powered car is not the only invention in Schreier’s locker. He also sells a concentrate lubricant supplement, an oil additive that he claims provides 47 per cent less wear and tear and gives eight-10 per cent better mileage.
