		<description>The auto industry is devastated right now, and people are clearly saying we aren&#039;t going to buy hybrids when gas is this cheap.  There is only one solution to this, and it&#039;s not by directing the industry as they have in the past - you destroy capitalism that way.  The correct solution is to guide capitalism where the money comes from - so a gas tax would work...leaving the consumer with the capability to not spend any more money on fuel by switching to more fuel efficient vehicles, the impact would be marginal.  The government needs to trap this cash and reinject it back into the economy in the form of electricity discounts to plug in owners, improve roads and infrastructure.  And of course make sure the big rigs are able to buy cheap gas.</description>
