Plenty of manufacturers were keen to make their mark at yesterday’s Revolve Eco-Rally but few did more to attract attention than Mitsubishi.
The manufacturer hasn’t been under the green car spotlight too often and so it turned to some high profile names to assist its cause at the event and drive its vehicles.
First, Zac Goldsmith, Conservative Party politician and well-known environmentalist, got behind the wheel of the Mitsubishi Colt ClearTec. The Colt is a family car with a host of green credentials including auto stop & go; low rolling resistance tyres; a high viscosity engine; a high performance intelligent alternator; and a longer final gear ratio.
The ClearTec version of the car cuts carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 24g/km to just 117g/km.
It wasn’t the only car being driven by an eco-champion however, with TV presenter Oliver Heath driving the all-electric iMiEV. The presenter of Dream Homes is well known for having established the Urban Eco Chic style, something that the zero emission iMiEV is keen to reflect with its promotion of technology and nature.
