This year’s Tokyo Motor Show may not live up to its normal standards as a showcase for the world’s most exciting concepts, but its relevance for the Japanese car industry remains intact.
It was no surprise then that Carlos Ghosn, president and CEO of Nissan Motor Company Ltd, took the opportunity to announce that Infiniti plans to introduce an electric vehicle – one that Ghosn states will be true to the brand’s promise of “inspired performance”.
In news that may make the masterminds behind the likes of Tesla Motors’ Roadster and Honda’s CR-Z sit up and take notice, Ghosn stated that a concept is being developed for a stylish, compact and high performance four-seat luxury Infiniti.
Earlier this month, Nissan announced the production of the Infiniti M35, which is expected to go on sale in spring 2011 (see article).
