New ethanol supercar achieves 100mpg

The latest green sure is super. Unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, the Revenge Verde, based on the Ford GT, is capable of 100 miles to gallon and achieves a top speed of 200 miles per hour.

The Verde reaches 60mph in just 3.5 seconds and generates 400bhp. Even by supercar standards, this car has moves, but add this to its impressive eco-credentials. The Verde is run on (85 per cent ethanol) and has an Hp2g hybrid functionality to eek out the miles without compromising on performance.

Its light alloy and composite construction is complimented by carbon fibre batteries, all aiding its amazing fuel economy. Variable displacement means its engine can go from operating on eight cylinders to just one to conserve fuel.

Plus, even better, it is expected to retail at around £122,000, less than many comparable supercars. Made by Revenge Designs, details have yet to be released on when we can see this model hitting the road.
