Volvo’s latest S60 model is to join the DRIVe range after the new model goes on sale this summer.
Displayed at the Geneva Motor Show this week, the new incarnation of the carmaker’s sporty coupe model will feature a low emission variant set to wear environmental sub-brand badge for the first time.
The new S60 features a new, more sporty look, refined drive and improved performance. Available from launch will be a choice of two diesels and one petrol engine, including an up-rated high-performance 3.0-litre T6 petrol version with 304bhp, a 2.4-litre 205bhp D5 and a 2.0-litre 163bhp D3 powerplant. A DRIVe version powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine with CO2 emissions of approximately 115g/km and fuel economy of up to 65.7mpg (combined cycle, preliminary figure) will join the range later in 2011.
Featuring a host of technical enhancements, the new S60 will also boast use of the Swedish carmaker’s ground-breaking Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake technology.
The all-new Volvo S60 will be built at the Volvo Cars factory in Ghent, Belgium and first cars will be delivered to customers in early summer 2010. Full UK specification, technical details and prices will be announced at a later date.
