Vauxhall is looking for eco-drivers ready to test their mpg-maximising skills to the limit.
Its motto, ‘Green drivers wanted’ should say it all as the carmaker teams up with sister brand Opel in launching a pan-European competition to find the drivers who can eek out the most miles in its range of ecoFLEX models.
Kicking off on April 1, Vauxhall will be looking for UK drivers to take part competition. To be in with a chance of taking part, potential drivers need to first prove their eco-mettle in an online quiz, before proving their virtual driving and fuel-saving skills on an internet simulator.
The very best virtual driver from the UK along with 19 other participating European countries will then be invited to a multi-day event at the Sturup Raceway in Malmö, Sweden this summer. Here, contestants will receive professional tuition in a range of ecoFLEX models and the greenest driver overall will be named the ‘ecoFLEX Experience Champion’.
And best of all is the prize – the winner will be awarded one of the very first Ampera production cars, which will hit the UK Market at the start of 2012.
Contestants can register immediately for the ecoFLEX Experience by visiting: www.ecoFLEX-experience.co.uk.
