C5 cuts emissions to 130g/km CO2

Citroen’s C5 range is to benefit from a new re-homologated engine, set to slash emissions and boost fuel efficiency.

The 1.6HDi 110hp engine in C5 range means that the saloon model is now available with the first year free of VED.

These improvements affect all trim levels of both the saloon and Tourer models that are powered by the HDi 110hp unit. Fuel economy, over the combined cycle, has improved 6 per cent to 56.5mpg, whilst CO2 emissions have been slashed by 10g/km, from 140g/km to 130g/km.  The changes bring these C5 models into the new VED Band D, qualifying them for free road tax in the first year.  Company car drivers also stand to benefit, thanks to a 1-point reduction in BIK taxation rates – down to 18 per cent.
