Ford and Chevrolet boosted by electric drive system

Both Ford and Chevrolet have had their models turned electric after Enova Systems Inc expanded its zero emission drive system to include a Ford F-150 and a Chevrolet Express cargo van.

The Ford F-150 is boosted with a 90kW Ze drive system while the Chevy Express cargo van has been fitted with a 120kW system. The latter is already being deployed to national fleets on the Freightliner/Daimler MT-45 EV step van chassis and is available for purchase by Federal fleets via the General Services Administration.

The all-electric Ford F-150 will be put through a series of tests starting in June with a range of dynamometer and on-road testing programmes.
