The Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric vehicle is on the move. Having made its mark in Japan and Hong Kong, the much sought-after electric car will now head to Australia.
Mitsubishi will begin shipments of the vehicle in July. The company, along with its Australian distributor Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited, has been conducting electric vehicle promotional activities aimed at power companies and other organisations since February and now 40 of the vehicles will be shipped with plans to sell the i-MiEVs via lease to customers.
The i-MiEV was initially released in July 2009 in Japan primarily to corporations and municipalities before sales began to individuals in April.
