One fleet co-ordinator found the true secret to a greener fleet after attending the Greener Company Car in Action Day (GCCIA).
London-based Louise Haigh was the lucky winner of a brand-new and ultra clean mountain bike after entering a competition on the Skoda stand of the two-day event.
While inspecting the Czech carmaker’s range, Louise, a fleet co-coordinator for the Salvation Army, entered the competition to win the bike on offer as part of the carmaker’s sponsorship of the Team Raleigh cycling team.
Louise attended the event in her role as fleet co-ordinator for the Salvation Army and, in between testing new models to add to their 700 strong fleet which currently includes the Škoda Octavia, she found the chance to win a brand new mountain bike far too good an opportunity to miss.
“When I found out that I’d won I was initially so surprised I thought it was a joke, but I’m really looking forward to using the bike now and can’t wait to take it down to the docks to give it a test run,” Louise commented.
The Greener Company Car in Action Day was a two day event run by industry publication, Fleet News and was designed to raise awareness of greener vehicle choices and how they can help company fleets save money, fuel and emissions. The event which ran between 29-30 July, welcomed exhibitors including Honda, Skoda and Toyota.
