Another debutant is on its way to the Paris Motor Show – with General Motors (GM) taking centre stage.
It will introduce the five-door Chevrolet Aveo at the event ahead of it going on sale in the US and Canada in 2011.

The new five-door Chevrolet Aveo.
The new Aveo will be longer and wider than the current model and in Europe will come with a range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines including two versions of the 1.3litre diesel engine (75hp/56kW and 95hp/71kW) with start/stop technology. The petrol range includes two 1.2litre versions (70hp/52kW and 86hp/64kW); a 1.4litre (100hp/75kW); and a 1.6litre (115hp/86kW).
It will be the first time that Chevrolet’s six-speed automatic transmission has featured on a small car. It will appear in the 1.4 and 1.6 as an option in most European markets with manuals of five or six speed depending on the engine choice.
The new Chevrolet Aveo has been engineered for improved handling thanks to a tight body frame integral structure with high levels of torsional rigidity. Electronic power steering, electronic stability control and ABS brakes are included as standard.
