Electric vehicles move into Finland

It seems the Finnish people are thinking electric – as Scandinavian electric vehicle maker THINK begins sales in the country.

The THINK City EV has been introduced alongside production partner Valmet Automotive with the first deliveries to green delivery pioneers A2B through a new THINK dealership in Helsinki. It is expected that further dealerships will be opened in the coming months in Finnish cities including Tampere, Jyvaskyla, Turku and Oulu.

According to Valmet Automotive president Ilpo Korhonen, there has been a high level of interest from customers in both the private and business sector in the THINK City. He said the company is extremely excited by the prospect of being the exclusive distributor in the country.

Finland is actually just the latest location for the THINK City with customer deliveries already taking place in The Netherlands, Spain, France, Austria, Switzerland and Norway. The company has also announced plans to establish a US production facility in Elkhart County, Indiana, in 2011.
