Hundreds of Canadians are in for an electric treat this week as the doors open to the Vancouver EV Conference and Trade Show 2010, set to see a host of electric car firsts for the country.
Hosted by the Vancouver Electric Vehicle Association (VEVA), this yearly public will showcase all things electric including cars, trucks, buses, conversions, plug-in hybrids, bicycles, scooters, off-road vehicles, skateboards, and electric boats.
National debuts at the show will include the return of a Mitsubishi i-MiEV which has just completed a 28 day run across the country from Newfoundland to Victoria. Other vehicles on show include the Chevrolet Volt, Toyota Prius Plug-in hybrid, Canada’s first all-electric delivery truck owned by NOVEX Couriers, Azure Dynamics’ Ford Transit Connect electric van and Future Vehicle Technologies’ eVaro electric car. The show will also see the debut of the electric car made from hemp composites, called the Kestrel (see story), which recently caused quite a splash with the international media.
Together with vehicle industry representatives, over 60 speakers from Canada, USA, Europe and Asia will discuss technical, business and policy discussions regarding electric mobility.
The show runs from Monday 13, September until Thursday 16, September, 2010.
