Infiniti reveals its first electric car

Japan’s newest premium carmaker, Infiniti has released a sketch of its first electric car which it has confirmed for launch in 2013.

Details of the new model are as sketchy as the picture, but the Nissan-owned carmaker has revealed that the new model will be a ‘high performance, five-seat luxury car’ with ‘zero emission technology’.

The sketch was shown by Infiniti’s Senior Vice President, Mr Andy Palmer, during a ceremony held to mark the opening of the Infiniti Centre Piccadilly in London.

The carmaker is also set to unveil its M35h hybrid saloon at the Paris Motor Show this week, before the model goes on sale in the spring of 2011. Despite being a large luxury vehicle, the model can achieve 32.2mpg and emits less than 170g/km of CO2.
