SEAT offers VAT-free green cars

Spanish car maker SEAT is now a selection of its car with no VAT to pay. The deal, launched to celebrate the brand’s most successful quarter ever in the UK, means that buyers can look forward to a 17.5 per cent discount on the list price of their new car.

Eligible cars even include SEAT’s green Altea Ecomotive which emits just 119g/km of CO2 and achieves 62.8 miles to the gallon on a combined cycle and its Ibiza Ecomotive which emits 92g/km CO2 and achieves 80.7 miles to the gallon combined.

The offers are available until the end of December, when VAT is set to rise nationally  to 20 per cent on January 4, 2011.

The sporty Spanish brand celebrates a 1.68 per cent market share in the UK for the three months to October, the largest in the firm’s 25 year trading history.

Other qualifying cars include Ibiza SC and Ibiza 5dr models – with the exception of the Cupra and Cupra Bocanegra; all Ibiza ST models; Leon S, S Emoción, SE and Sport derivatives; all Altea and Altea XL versions and all Exeo and Exeo ST variants with the exception of SE Tech and Sport Tech cars.

The details couldn’t be more simple.  All qualifying vehicles are eligible for a discount equivalent to the VAT shown in the price list.  That means 17.5 per cent off the basic price of the car and any factory-fitted options.
