Bremach introduces T-REX electric truck

Who thinks that electrification is the driving method of the future? Well if Bremach USA’s latest invention is anything to go by, it’s more the stuff of prehistoric times.

The Bremach T-REX 4×4 is a class three medium-duty electric drive truck with either a full battery electric or series hybrid drivetrain (petrol and CNG/LPG models are also available). It weighs more than 10,000lbs and offers a 3.87ton payload while also being powered by a 200kW, 360Nm brushless permanent magnet motor with a lithium-ion pack built with large-format prismatic cells.

The battery electric version can travel for 200miles on a single charge, meaning that practically there will be a range of between 75 and 100miles, according to the company. It features a high performance traction system that operates at 114VDC – that’s much lower than typical high performance electric propulsion systems.

As for the series hybrid version, it uses a VLV motor as a generator combined with a 2.0l petrol engine. This allows for some 30-60miles of all-electric travel prior to the system recharging the batteries while being driven.

Among its standard features are eight forward torque/gear settings; Brembo disc brakes and Bosch ABS on all four wheels; permanent four-wheel drive; heavy duty transmission and suspension; and auto electric locking rear differential. Without tax incentives the pure electric version will sell for $120,000 and the plug-in series hybrid for $140,000.
