Audi diesel models prove a big hit

Sales of Audi diesel cars are on the increase in the US as drivers become more fuel economy conscious.

The diesel Audi A3 TDI represented 69 per cent of all Audi A3 models sold in the US during November while Audi sales on the whole more than doubled to 788 units compared to just 391 units in the same month of the previous year. Indeed over the first 11months of 2010, Audi A3 sales have increased by a whopping 81.1 per cent.

There have been similar results with Audi Q7 models, sales of which doubled for November to 1,000 units with TDI models making up 45 per cent of the mix.

Overall for the month, Audi sold 9,635 vehicles – that’s up 37.5 per cent compared to the 6,810 models sold in November, 2009. Sales of all Audi models have also increased by more than 20 per cent compared to the prior year to date total of 73,686.
