Peugeot’s all-electric supercar concept has set new speed records in China, breaking records it only recently set in France.
The EX1 concept has now smashed its previous records it set over a 1/8 and 1/4 mile, only set back in September, achieving new times of 7.08.62 and 12.67.54 seconds respectively.
Visiting the Chinese city of Chengdu, the car was driven by the country’s most popular blogger among the China’s urban youth, Han Han. Both of the record times have been certified and will be approved by the Chinese Auto Sports Federation to validate the quality and accuracy of times.
The EX1’s previous record breaking driver, Nicolas Vanier, was also in China and he achieved another unofficial record for 0 to 100 km/h, in 3.49 seconds. He also demonstrated the incredible power and acceleration of the EX1 by recording longitudinal acceleration of 1G, over a total sprint of 39 metres.
The concept car features four electric drive motors which offer a combined power of 250kW and torque of 240Nm for a maximum speed of 162mph. Previous records set in Montlhery, France saw the car cover a standing quarter of a mile in 14.4 seconds and a standing mile in 41.09 (see story).
