Chevrolet Volt to be available as a rental car

Enterprise Rent-A-Car will be the first rental car company to offer the Chevrolet Volt as part of its daily and weekly rentals.

The Volt extended range vehicles will be made available at the Mark Christopher Auto Centre in Ontario, California, along with a new charging station.

With more than 5,000 Enterprise offices located within 15miles of 90 per cent of the US population, the inclusion of the Volt among the fleet represents a significant breakthrough for the widespread acceptance of the vehicle.

Enterprise is adding electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles throughout its network with more customers having an opportunity to try the technology while learning about the charging process.

Additional electric vehicles will also be offered at other Enterprise locations as they are made available by manufacturers. For example, there will be 500 Nissan LEAF electric vehicles available at locations across the US with on-site charging stations to support the vehicles. There are already charging stations in place in Los Angeles, San Diego and Santa Monica, California.
