i-MiEV electric car available in 15 European countries

It may have taken its time to reach the marketplace, but the Mitsubishi i-MiEV is now firmly making its mark across Europe.

The electric car is now available in 15 European countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Production of the European version of the vehicles actually began in October last year with around 2,500 units shipped around three months later. These included the Peugeot i0n and Citroen C-ZERO variants.

The 15 countries already featuring the i-MiEV are just the beginning – there have also been requests to introduce the car in Finland, Serbia, Turkey and Slovenia. Mitsubishi is planning to ship units to these countries in the near future before it is introduced across the rest of the company’s European territory.
