Mitsubishi is planning to introduce eight hybrid and battery electric cars by 2015 according to Bloomberg this morning.
As demand for fuel efficient models grow, Mitsubishi, the first mainstream car maker to launch a mass-produced electric car, intends to develop its strong in-roads into a burgeoning market.
The car maker also aims to increase annual global sales to 1.37 million vehicles by 2013 from 1 million predicted for the current fiscal year ending March 31, the firm revealed as it outlined its mid-term business plan.
As part of the plan to increase sales both home and abroad, the Japanese car maker famed for its electric i-MiEV model, aims to launch two plug-in hybrid models by 2012.
