Vauxhall launches ecoFLEX van range

As you might expect here at TheGreenCarWebsite.co.uk, we spend a lot of time talking about green cars-but what about vans? Well, one manufacturer is addressing this imbalance and for those hungry for some green van news, Vauxhall’s announcement that it is to an ‘eco’ model across its whole van range will be music to your ears.

Vauxhall Vivaro

A first in the industry, Vauxhall’s commercial models will all feature an ecoFLEX variant to identify the lowest emission choices. This new commercial ecoFLEX range includes two new Luton-built Vivaro ecoFLEX vans, a 2.0CDTi (90PS) and a 2.0CDTi (115PS), both with CO2 outputs of just 185g/km despite having payloads of up to 1254kg. Vauxhall’s new eco-middleweight commercials complement the recently-launched Corsavan ecoFLEX 1.3CDTi (75PS) Start/Stop which emits a miserly 105g/km CO2.

Offering best-in-class CO2 output of 202g/km, the Movano ecoFLEX is based on the 3.3-tonne L2H2 2.3CDTI (100PS) model already on sale, featuring efficiency features such as  manually-operated windows, door mirrors and door locking, a tyre repair kit in lieu of spare wheel and a 56mph speed limiter as standard.

Astravan and Combo will see the lowest CO2 output derivatives badged as ecoFLEX too.

Steve Bryant, Brand Manager, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles, said: "Vauxhall is the first manufacturer to offer an ‘eco’ product for each model in its range. Green credentials are becoming a higher priority for customers looking to reduce the carbon footprint of their vehicles.  Our vans have always been known for their low running costs and the ecoFLEX badge clearly identifies to our customers the lowest CO2 model for each vehicle in our range."

The full range of ecoFLEX commercial vehicles will be available to order at Vauxhall retailers from February.
