Renault launches Europe’s first Better Place centre

The Better Place battery swap model continues to take the world by storm and now the company, along with its partner Renault, have launched Europe’s first Better Place centre where visitors can place an order for a Renault Fluence ZE and sign up with Better Place for mobility services.

When the Fluence debuts in Denmark for €27,496, Better Place will offer its customers a choice of five, fixed price packages that are based on kilometres driven. Drivers who travel more than 40,000 kilometres a year can pick up a fixed price package of “all you can drive” kilometres for €399 a month.

Meanwhile, drivers that travel less than 20,000 kilometres a year can pick up a fixed price monthly offer for €199.

Each subscription comes with a one-time fee for the installation of a private charge spot so drivers can safely plug in at home. Initial deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of the year. It also offers unlimited access to the Better Place network, which includes public charging spots and battery switch stations.

As for the Fluence, it has a driving range of 185 kilometres with a fully charged battery. It also includes climate control, radio-CD, alloy wheels, electric mirrors, electric windows, central locking and a lithium-ion switchable battery pack as standard with the pack able to be switched in less than five minutes.
