Peugeot’s diesel hybrid model all snapped up!

Peugeot’s 3008 HYbrid4 limited edition model has already seen its small production run of 300 models snapped up- just nine days after the order books opened.

The French car maker’s highly anticipated first full hybrid model is to launch with a limited numbered series special, with delivers set to begin in the summer. Available to customers from one of eleven European countries including the Uk, Peugeot took the opportunity to open reservations at the Geneva Motor Show. Less than two weeks later, the orders were maxed out.

Some customers were left disappointed, as demand for the special series exceeded the short run of supply-clearly a highly promising start for the world’s first full production diesel hybrid.

The Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 range starts with a £26,600 model, with UKdeliveries commencing in November 2011. The Limited Edition Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4  cost £29,995, with just 33 models heading to UK customers from October. This limited series boasts a highly exclusive finish: black headlight lining with chrome LED light strip, mother-of-pearl white colouring, two-tone leather trim, dashboard completely covered in leather and  numbered aluminium plate.

The new HYbrid4 combines a fuel efficient 2.0 litre HDi 163 bhp diesel engine with a 37bhp electric motor, to help the car achieve excellent out of town fuel consumption of 74.4mpg and CO2 emissions of just 99g/km-the lowest in its class.
