Peugeot to introduce new electric scooter

Peugeot will soon introduce a new electric scooter to the market – the e-Vivacity – which will feature lithium-ion batteries developed by Saft.

The Saft lithium-ion battery modules help provide the vehicle with total power of 3kW at 6,000rpm and 37miles of range assuming a constant speed of 30mph. It is believed that the batteries take up less than half the space and weigh less than half as much as their predecessors.

Each of the battery packs can be fully recharged at least 1,000 times without any deterioration to performance; and they have been designed to last 10 years and clock up around 25,000 miles.

In addition, the battery modules are equipped with an electronic battery system that meets the international IEC 61508 standard risk reduction procedure to ensure an optimal level of safety. A complete recharge takes between five and eight hours depending on whether the vehicle is fitted with one or two chargers.
