Mazda to bring fuel saving technology to US

The SKYACTIV fuel saving technologies from Mazda will soon be appearing in the US as they debut at the upcoming New York International Auto Show.

SKYACTIV is a suite of technologies that includes efficient internal combustion petrol and diesel engines; as well as manual and automatic transmissions; and an advanced body and chassis.

Its first appearance will be in the 2012 Mazda3 which will feature both a SKYACTIV-G engine and SKYACTIV transmissions. Indeed with nearly one in every three Mazdas sold worldwide being a Mazda3 it is a significant debut for the technology which will sit alongside a refined interior and exterior design, as well as new safety features.

Also making its first appearance at the event will be the MINAGI Concept, which is a compact SUV. It will be the first Mazda concept vehicle to fully adopt the SKYACTIV technologies and the new KODO design theme. It will provide direction for the next generation of vehicles and inspiration for upcoming production models.
