Two days of conferences and ‘green’ car trials, bringing together the public and private sectors, is set to take place in Alès, in the south of France this summer, organised by the The Green Car Club.
The Paris-based organisation, dedicated to the promotion and deployment of ‘green and clean’ cars, announces that it second RIVE event will take place on 6 and 7 July 2011.
This annual event is expected to welcome between 1500 and 3000 guests including representatives of major car manufacturers, French national and foreign ambassadors and Members of the European Parliament, all wishing to learn, discuss and assess the industrial, political, public and environmental issues which surround the manufacture and running of ecological vehicles today.
During two days of conferences and meetings, attendees will have the opportunity to meet decision makers from governments and diverse businesses, including car manufacturers and energy suppliers.
Planned topics of debates and presentations include:
- Green cars : a worldwide movement
- Convincing our fellow citizens to use green cars
- Deliveries in urban centers
- Which energies are available? Which green car for which purpose?
- How to encourage businesses to favour the use of green cars
- Rechargeable electric and hybrid vehicles
- Outlook, the future of green cars
Marc Teyssier d’Orfeuil, the founder and delegate general of RIVE (les Rencontres Internationales des Voitures Ecologiques) says: “RIVE 2010 was a huge success, attended by HRH Prince Albert II, the French Secretary of State for Sustainable Development, Valérie Létard, the former Minister of Transport, Jean-Claude Gayssot, 12 MEPs, nearly 1500 private and public decision makers, 57 partners and 65 speakers. 50 vehicles were available for test drives, including the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4, Renault Fluence ZE and Honda’s FCX Clarity. We are looking forward to creating an even greater event this year, on a wider international scale.”
RIVE 2011 will be attended by Eric Besson, the French Minister for Industry, Energy and the Digital Economy, Nathalie Kosciusco-Morizet: the French Minister for Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing (attendance TBC) and Serge Orru: General delegate of the WWF, France among others. Mayors from throughout the world have also been invited to attend (including the cities of Chicago, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires).
