Japanese car makers Nissan and Mitsubishi are to form an unlikely partnership as they look to enhance their mini-car business in their home country.
The two companies have signed a contract to establish a joint venture. The agreement actually relates back to a working relationship agreed back in December 2010 to expand the scope of co-operation between the companies.
It is hoped that the firms will expand their competitiveness in the mini-car business through the joint venture with the planned date of establishment set for June 1, 2011. Each company will own 50 per cent of the entity.
