The Mercerdes-Benz F-Cell World Drive is now closer to home as it cross the Ural Mountains in Kazakhstan and arrives back in Europe.
The round the world driving challenge has seen three of Mercedes’ B-Class F-CELL vehicles set off to travel round the globe to prove the real world driving capabilities of their hydrogen fuel cell technology, so far having travelled across the Americas and Asia.
Part of the car maker’s 125 year celebrations since its founder invented the motor car, the three cars set out from Stuttgart, Germany back in January. Although the trip has been largely without troubles, there was one small accident in Kazakhstan, where another vehicle crashed into one of the fuel cell cars, but luckily no-one was hurt.
The F-Cell Drive cars are now crossing Russia and will cross over to Helsinki this week on their way back to Stuttgart. Just two weeks left until the challenge is complete and Mercedes take the record for the first hydrogen fuel cell cars to travel around the world.
