Renault ad shows how ‘electric’ life already is

Renault has a cool new advert out to promote its range of electric cars after its launched two of four EVs for pre-order across Europe.

Available to pre-reserve now, the Twizy EV and Kangoo EV will soon be joined by the supermini ZOE Z.E and saloon Fluence Z.E as the French car maker’s electrification programme gets well underway.

The Electric Life

Demonstrating the archaic nature of the combustion engine, the ad shows just how silly it would be if all things were combustion powered and just how ‘electric’ our lives already are. The Electric Life ad features the strapline; ‘You’ve already switched to electricity for many things. So why not for travelling?’

As part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, Renault will launch the Z.E range in autumn 2011. Watch the video on YouTube video for further details.

This Nissan ad is absolutely identical to the one launched by Renault a few days before. And both brands seem to have strongly copied a commercial for the Mitsubishi iMiev !

That ad is grossly deceiving. Electricity has to come from somewhere.

Both campaigns are shameless copies of this spec commercial made by German film students, published months before the other two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzhGvW5OH28
