Volkswagen’s latest vehicle is something a bit difference-the ‘Aqua’ is able to travel on road, ice, sand and even water.
The new model is the creation of Zhang Yuhan, a 21 year old designer who dreamt up the idea for a competition sponsored by the German car maker.
According the Daily Mail, the car’s design incorporates four high-powered fans and integrated airbags to lift it off the ground like a hovercraft. This gives the model its go-anywhere, do anything ability.
Even better, the fuel cell model is designed to be powered by hydrogen-meaning tailpipe emissions are simply clean water.
The Aqua, with a top speed of 62mph was the winning design in the competition which asked entrants to design a Chinese off-road vehicle with any ability to go anywhere.
Mechanical design graduate, Ms Yuhan told reporters: “There is no better form of transport than an air cushion vehicle because it travels equally well over land, ice, and water.” said Ms Yuhan.
