Honda announces emission targets

After reaching its original goal to reduce CO2 emissions from its motorcycle, automobile and power products by 10 per cent compared to 2000 levels by the end of 2010, Honda has now announced a new CO2 emissions goal.

Now it wants to reduce CO2 emissions from its global products by 30 per cent by the end of 2020 compared to 2000 levels.

In addition to reducing emissions through its production and supply chain it will strengthen its efforts to realise reductions in emissions through its entire corporate activities. It also plans to strengthen its efforts in advancing technologies in the area of total energy management.

Finally, Honda has developed a new global environmental slogan entitled: “Blue Skies for Our Children”.
