The line-up for this year’s RIVE (les Rencontres Internationales des Voitures Ecologiques) event has been revealed as the show returns to Alès in the south of France.
The international event, consisting of two days of conferences and ‘green’ car trials, brings together the public and private sectors, to discuss and discover more about the world of greener cars.
Organised by Paris-based organisation-The Green Car Club- the 2011 event will display vehicles including Renault’s ZE range, Opel’s Ampera, the MIA Electric, the Exagon Furtive eGT (an electric sports car), the Think City, the Fam F-City, the Reva NXR and Alfa Romeo’s Mito GPL.
Marc Teyssier d’Orfeuil, the founder and delegate general of RIVE says: “We are looking forward to an exceptional programme of conferences on the future of green cars. As last year, attendees will have the unique opportunity to test drive the latest and future vehicles.”
The official partners of RIVE 2011 include Renault, NAVTEQ, Keolis, EDF and Mobivia while exhibitors will include Scuderi Group LLC, Opel, ARVAL/DEXIA, Exagon Motors, Covéa, CFBP, Schneider Electric, AVERE, EV Plug Alliance, DBT, CGB and Greenflex.
Speakers include Xavier Mosquet, a senior partner and the managing director of Boston Consulting Group, Detroit and Robin Chase, the CEO of Buzzcar, the former CEO of Zipcar and a former adviser of the Obama administration. Xavier too is a former adviser of the Obama administration, assisting during the crises with General Motors and Chrysler. Finally, Stephen Scuderi, the vice-president of Scuderi Group LLC, will also speak along with Brett Smith, the group director of Automotive Analysis Group of the Center for Automotive Research (CAR).
Topics include ‘Green cars : a worldwide movement’, ‘Convincing our fellow citizens to use green cars’, Deliveries in urban centres’ and ‘Outlook, the future of green cars’.
French government officials who will also be attending RIVE include Eric Besson, French Minister for Industry, Energy and the Digital Economy and Serge Lepeltier, former Minister of the Environment, now the French Ambassador responsible for negotiations on climate change and the Mayor of Bourges.
