Mazda has started the production of its new look Mazda3 (also known as the Mazda Axela) which comes with SKYACTIV technology.
The vehicle will be the first Mazda model to combine the 2.0litre SKYACTIV-G direct injection petrol engine with the SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission.
Among the features of the new transmission is reduced slippage which delivers a direct feel similar to that of a manual transmission. In the Japanese market, the vehicle will also come with intelligent-Drive Master, a new technology that has proven popular on the new Mazda Demio and provides information and driving tips to create a smoother and more efficient driving style.
Sales of the new Mazda3 will begin in the Japanese market this autumn. It is seen as the core model in the company’s line-up and accounts for a third of its global sales.
