Toyota chooses electric vehicle equipment provider

Toyotahas selected an electric vehicle supply equipment provider as it prepares for the release of two new electric vehicles in the US.

Leviton has been chosen – and it offers programme management with a certified installation team and an extensive customer service centre.

Currently it has a wide variety of electric vehicle supply equipment products for both commercial and residential use and will offer Toyota dealers and customers an assortment of charging solutions for their needs.

Toyotawill introduce the RAV4 EV and the Scion iQ EV into the USA in 2012. The RAV4 will be available to the public; whereas the Scion iQ EV will be utilised for demonstration programmes only. In addition,Toyota will market the Prius Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle in 2012 – it combines an extended all-electric range with a conventional hybrid synergy drive for longer trips.
