BMW 3 Series gets electric car treatment

A BMW 3-Series has received the electric car treatment courtesy of California-based Electric Motor Werks.

The company has completed design and construction work on an electric conversion of the 3-Series and it has now been test driven to tune various components ahead of being unveiled at the annual Palo Alto EV Rally in California this Saturday (September 24).

Electric Motor Werks won’t stop there, however. It is already planning to start the conversion of a second E46 BMW later this month that will streamline the manufacturing and installation process. It hopes to work on a public introduction of a one-week electric BMW conversion service before the end of the year.

According to the company, its mission is to dramatically accelerate the adoption of electric car conversions while raising the image of the affordable and fun electric car solutions.
