Nissan LEAF arrives in new markets

The availability of the Nissan LEAF electric car in the US has now been expanded – after the vehicle became open for orders across a range of new states.

Orders for the 2012 Nissan LEAF are now available in Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey and New York with deliveries to take place by December.

The 2012 version of the vehicle comes with additional standard equipment including quick charging and cold-weather features, and a prioritised ordering phase is now under way for individuals with existing reservations in these new markets.

From October 3, Nissan will open new reservations and orders to the general public and then will expand into additional markets as the year continues. By the end of the year, Delaware, Indiana, Louisiana, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island will also be added.

By the end of August, Nissan had sold 6,187 LEAF models since its launch in December, 2010.
